Leaving Las Vegas ...
This has been an unusual business trip. I rode a roller coaster, ate a $46 business lunch, and took my morning runs along a busy boulevard teeming with lights and music.
It’s difficult for me to believe that people spend their own money and vacation time to come to Las Vegas. Truly, the appeal of Vegas is totally lost on me. It’s is a smoky, crowded, unnatural assault on the senses.
I expected at least to enjoy Las Vegas’ kitsch factor, the pomo train wreck of it all. But, it just seems sad.
I'm sitting at my gate, in the blissfully smoke-free airport, and I'm really glad to be heading home ...
